Fourth Grade Recorders
Students in the 4th grade music classes will be learning to play the recorder this year through the use of a program called "Recorder Karate." Your child will earn a recorder belt for each song he/she passes in class. Learning to play the recorder will be a challenge as well as an enjoyable experience for your child. Recorders provide students with a great knowledge of reading music notation and prepare students for participation in 5th grade band.
Your child will be bringing the recorder home to practice songs we have learned in class and will have the opportunity to test for a karate belt on what has been practiced. Below you will find audio excerpts for the songs that your child is playing in class. Please encourage your child to play the instrument for you, to practice with the below recordings, and to take care of the recorder properly.
